The road to the championship is officially set for the MIFFL Open Division.
After six weeks of regular-season competition, the Michigan Inclusive Flag Football League heads into Championship Sunday on October 4 at Martin Road Park in Ferndale. Three teams remain in the hunt, but only one will leave the field as the Fall 2026 Open Division Champion.
Gold Blooded enters the playoffs having earned a first-round bye, automatically advancing to the championship game after their regular-season performance. They’ll have the advantage of watching the semifinal unfold while preparing for whichever team emerges.
That semifinal kicks off at 4:15 PM, when Pride After Dark takes on the Renegades in a win-or-go-home showdown.
There’s plenty of familiarity between these teams after battling throughout the regular season, but none of that matters once the playoffs begin. Pride After Dark and the Renegades will have one opportunity to keep their season alive and earn a shot at the title.
The winner will have a quick turnaround before meeting Gold Blooded at 5:30 PM in the Open Division Championship Game.
One game. One championship. One final opportunity to finish the Fall 2026 season on top.
And the celebration won’t end when the final whistle blows.
Following the championship games, MIFFL will host our End-of-the-Season Awards presentation, recognizing the players who made an impact throughout the Fall 2026 season through their performance, sportsmanship, leadership, and contributions to the league.
We’ll also have food and drinks following the games, giving everyone a chance to stick around, celebrate the season, recognize our award winners, and spend one more Sunday together as an MIFFL community.
The regular season is over. The bracket is set. Now it’s time to crown a champion.
